Roy Rogers Comic Four Color #124, November 1946, 52 pages.
Price $90.00

The comic includes a single story drawn by Erwin Hess and scripted by Gaylord Dubois. The front cover has Roy sitting on Trigger and the back cover features Roy tucking his two daughters, Cheryl and Linda Lou, into bed.

Condition: This is a Four Color comic in excellent condition. The front and back covers are smooth and crisp with no blemishes or creases. The lower left back cover corner is, however, tucked. This is an excellent buy and any collector looking for a quality Four Color will be pleased with it.

 

 

Roy Rogers Comics # 2, February 1948, 36 pages.
Price $60.00

This is the second comic in the Dell series that began in 1948. The book contains one Roy Rogers comic story with Albert Mical as artist and Gaylord Dubois as script writer. The comic also includes an informational story on great lawmen of the old west and a Chuckwagon Charley tale.

Condition: Fine. Front cover shows wear along the spine and chipped edges along the outside of the front cover. The front right-hand top corner is also chipped.  Creases exist on the lower right- and left-hand sides of the front cover. Pencil marks are on the upper left part on the front cover over the "Roy" in the title. Back cover has chips along the top edge of the cover and one chip on the bottom edge of the cover.  The fact that the comic is the #2 issue in the series gives it added value.

 

Roy Rogers Comics #5, May 1948, 36 pages. Price $40.00

This fifth issue of the Dell series contains one Roy Rogers story drawn by Albert Mical and scripted by Gaylord Dubois. It also includes a Chuckwagon Charley tale written by Dubois.

Condition: Fine. Front cover has a rolled spine with chips at the top, near the top staple and along the spine midway down.  A crease lines the right-hand lower corner of the front cover and the tip of the corner is folded back. The back cover is torn on the outside about one-third way down the cover. Pencil marks saying "an3/30" is in the top right-hand corner. The front and back covers are in very good shape. While not perfect, this comic can be an excellent addition to any collection.

 

Roy Rogers Comics
#6, June 1948, 36 pages. Price $30.00

This sixth issue of the Dell series provides a beautiful color photo of Roy in a white hat and red, white and blue western shirt. Albert Micale drew the only Rogers story in the book and Gaylord Dubois scripted not only the main story but also the informational story and the Chuckwagon Charley tale.

Condition: Fine. Front cover has a rolled spine with tears and blemishes. Roy's hat and face are partially covered with print that advertises a Dayton, Ohio newsstand.  The right-hand edge of the front cover shows creases and two small tears. The back cover is a color photo from Roy's picture On the Old Spanish Trail.

 

 

Roy Rogers Comics
 #76, April 1954, 52 pages. Price $50.00

This comic is in excellent condition and includes two stories drawn by John Bucema, the artist who went on to draw The Mighty Thor. Gaylord Dubois wrote the Rogers stories as well as the fillers and the Chuckwagon Charley tale.

Condition: The book is in fine to near mint condition. Front cover is crisp with no blemishes, tears or creases. The back cover is also excellent and features an advertisement for Post's Grape-Nuts Flakes, with a large drawn portrait of Roy and small drawn figures of Roy, Dale and Trigger. This comic is a special buy.

 

 

Roy Rogers and Trigger
#111, March 1957, 36 pages. Price $80.00

The book has one Roy Rogers story and a Trigger story, both drawn by Nat Edson. The scripter is unknown.

Condition. This comic is in very fine condition with crisp front and back covers. The right-hand lower corner of the front cover has a tiny blemish. Four tiny, tiny creases show on the front cover near the spine. The back cover advertises Daisy air rifles. This comic is an excellent buy and will enhance any Roy Rogers comic collection.

 

 


 

Dale Evans Comics: Queen of the Westerns
#1, September-October 1948, 52 pages. Price $110

This comic may be one of the most rare of Dale Evans' comics. It features several comic and narrative Dale Evans stories. In addition, Dale introduces the series in a letter to her fans. This DC comic was Dale's first.

Condition: The comic is in very fine condition. The spine is straight with small blemishes and a few chips. The top and lower right-hand corners are a bit worn. The back cover features an advertisement for Schwinn bicycles.

 

 

Dale Evans Comics: Queen of the Westerns #9, January-February 1950, 52 pages. Price $34.00

This DC Dale Evans comic includes three Evans comic stories and a Sierra Smith Western Detective tale. It also features Dale's letter to her fans, "Dale Evans Roundup." The back cover advertises the Daisy Red Ryder B B gun.

Condition:  Good. The spine is slightly rolled forward with five small tears. The paper over the bottom staple is torn away. A one-inch piece of cover on the top edge of the front cover is folded over and the bottom right corner is worn. The right-hand edge of the front cover has six or seven small tears. The collector who has a poor copy or wants a second copy for browsing or research will find this comic a nice addition to his or her collection.

 

 

Dale Evans Comics: Queen of the Westerns
, #19, September-October 1951. Price $18.00

This DC Dale Evans comic features strange and unusual stories with Dale Evans as a smart heroine who handles the villains as well as any male hero. In addition to two Dale Evans comic stories, the book includes Sierra Smith Western Dectective and an interesting "Dale Evans Roundup," letter to fans that includes personal stories about the Rogers family. The back outside cover sports a Daisy air rifle advertisement.

Condition: Good to near fine. The spine is rolled to the front and a crease line is visible the length of the cover. A 1"x1" tear or gouge is present on the front cover and in the first twelve pages of the book.  The two middle pages are loose from the staples. If a collector needs to complete a set of Dale's DC comics or upgrade from one in very poor condition, this comic is a good addition.
